WELCOME

I started a PhD program in 2019, in addition to my full time job in research administration. I also became a mother for the first time later that year. I'm often the only woman in the room during meetings and in class, and depending on the setting, the oldest or youngest woman in the room.

Along my professional and educational journey, I've frequently heard a notorious phrase - Fake it until you make it!  I've decided that it's a form of gaslighting, that marginalizes anyone who doesn't feel confident when trying to learn something new. I don't want to fake it, I want to learn, and it's been hard to find the resources and support that I needed to learn.

I want to try to inspire others who are traveling down the same road as I am, and are looking for genuine support. I want to provide encouragement for others, especially women and girls, who are curious or interested to learn about the broad range of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) topics that I love.

My passion for learning is insatiable, and I hope to foster that curiosity and passion in you. I'm not entirely sure where this journey will lead, and along the way I hope to amplify other voices and spread the word about some of the incredible people, scientists, community advocates, and mind-blowing science I've encountered.
